The best insurance is not to get sick! This is not only less time consuming but it is also cheaper than illness ( we are sure you already know this by now).. The veterinary profession has long ago learned that it was cheaper to put a little calcium in the feed to prevent arthritis than it was to give gold shots to the prize bull. The veterinarians job is to do the best job possible for the animal patient and save the farmer money. We just don’t see this effort in “orthodox” hospitals which have become like Star Trek robots running a muck sucking up patients for organ ”donors” and then having the gall to bill the “donor’s” family $250,000 for extended ICU use. This is like paying the car dealership to steal you car!
An independent survey was done of “orthodox” hospital insurance billing in 1,000 hospitals and it was found that 97% or 970 sent out incorrect insurance billings, the interesting part of the study was that 100% of the “mistakes” were in favor of the hospital ( come on now, what are the odds that this is a computer error- somewhere around 200 billion to one- in other words, they tried to rip off the insurance companies!). This “soiling of the nest” is a sure sign that they are in the process of dying out. It appears that the “orthodox” hospital is a terminal relic of ancient history.
Quackery can be defined as “That which claims too much, “ says Stephen Benett, M.D. If this is so, then hospitals are full of “Quacks”! It is safer at home than at a hospital (everyone will agree to that). As much as 50% of all new equipment in hospitals is defective when it’s delivered (i.e., anesthesia machines, fetal cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, etc.) Eighty to 90% of all anesthetic deaths are due to human error ( do the anesthesiologists tell you that? Hell, no! If they did, no one would ever submit to a general anesthesia). A minimum of 100,00 deaths from “nosocomial” infections (hospital caused) occur each year and another 100,000 have “nosocomial” blood infections each year but recover because of antibiotics. This has led the summary of one Harvard study to state “doctor induced infection is among the top ten leading causes of death in the United States today!”
The veterinarian with statistics like these would starve to death. No farmer in his right mind would keep calling when he got “service” that didn’t benefit his animals or his P & L statement! There are no insurance companies to pay the veterinarian, he must deal directly with the farmer and no TV ads saying what a wonderful guy he is will induce the farmer to call him if he can’t deliver a worthwhile service. The same is not true for the “orthodox” doctor; the insurance companies keep on paying and then raise our insurance rates because of the “high cost of medical services;” if you buy a typewriter and it doesn’t work, you return it and get a refund. When the insurance company pays, most people don’t ask the orthopedic surgeon for a refund if the hip replacement fails because they don’t feel that it came out of their own pocket. This then is why veterinarians give better service – they are directly responsible to the purchaser of that service. Are veterinarians smarter than “orthodox” doctors? Probably so! We know for sure that its harder to get into veterinary school than medical school and that veterinarians love their patients more!
Why don’t veterinarians have a high rate of “nosocomial” infections; animals are certainly less hygienic than humans. The reason is simple; they expect a certain amount of contamination and compensate for it by giving “preventive” doses of antibiotics during surgery. This eliminates the infections!!! The reason “orthodox” doctors don’t do this is simply arrogance. They wash their hands 5-10 minutes (but they wear their scrubs to the hospital cafeteria) and they feel that all should be well if they wear sterile gloves. It would be interesting to use the veterinary technique of “ preventative” antibiotics with surgery in ten hospitals and compare their “nosocomial” infection rate with ten hospitals that don’t ( a fourth grade biologist can figure out the answer to this one even before the experiment.
“Health insurance” should be called “Sickness Insurance” because they only pay out when you are sick; even boat or auto insurance lowers your rates or gives you a year end rebate if you don’t use the insurance! If you want the lowest rates of health insurance today you should join the Christian Science Church; they don’t consume alcohol, smoke, they have a great diet and exercise program and they avoid prescription drugs, blood transfusions, etc!!
If you want insurance coverage for “alternative” health care (i.e., naturopathic physicians, chiropractic physicians, homeopathic physicians and alternative treatment modalities) you can find it; however, it will be added onto your “basic health” plan as a very expensive “rider.” The “rider”usually costs more than the “basic plan.” This high cost is not because “alternative care” costs more (on the contrary- it always costs less!!) but rather the insurance companies have a “sweetheart deal” with the “orthodox” doctors under the guise of “ we want to protect you from quacks.” Additionally, insurance companies pay for services only approved by their medical committees which are dominated by MD;s – put some ND’s and DC’s on the insurance committee and see what gets paid for!!
True “preventative medicine” through healthful living, base line nutritional supplement programs (to include plant derived colloidal minerals) and constant self-care is the best insurance buy for your health dollars.
The good news is there is a movement afoot today to start health cooperatives that offer alternative health care that have accident riders added to them. In our opinion, this is long over due and is sure to be and instant hit.
If you have to be in the hospital, insist on having a spouse, parent or child stay with you to check out each shot, each pill and each procedure before it is administered to you. Also, they can make sure you don’t get “dropped through the cracks” and left out in the hall for hours after having an x ray, surgery or therapy. They can make sure you are eating properly, that you IV’s are hooked up properly, get blood from your own family if needed. This may sound extreme to you but since “orthodox” doctors do this for their families, they must know something they aren’t telling us!! The reason why “doctors make the worst patients” is they know what is and what isn’t happening in the hospitals and they don’t want to be just another statistical victim!!
